A short song for piano and alto written for MUSIC 3649A. What happens when adoration gets sidetracked by an unhealthy obsession with pain? Crimson Petals explores what it's like to be convinced of your own evil, and wholly self-condemning. Watch as the speaker's infatuation with the rose shifts into a delirious desire for her own blood, losing sight of the world around her.

LOVESONG

Written for the combination of Christmas, Dakota's birthday, and our 1-year anniversary. LOVESONG is a clarinet trio exploring the early days of our relationship and my inability to open up my heart to people as I slowly fell in love. It's always difficult to let your guard down, and it's often not a straightforward process to break down the walls around your heart. For the people that love you, it isn't a burden to share your pain, but it takes a while for you to let them do it, right?
